Bioinformatics.org is a valuable professional network for career development and research resources. The site was created in 1998 and currently has more than 35,000 members, making it one of the oldest and largest affiliations in the field.

I, Librarian

Science & Technology Software Development
I, Librarian (i-librarian.net) is an online PDF management service, which enables researchers, scholars, and students to create an annotated collection of PDF articles. If used as a groupware, users may build their virtual library collaboratively, sharing the workload of literature mining. I, Librarian organizes articles, books, patents, office files and more. Users can catalog, annotate, browse and search in reference data and PDF files. Formatting citations in over 1,000 styles is also included, as is scanning and formatting manuscript files. I, Librarian contains its own PDF viewer with annotating capabilities. Notably, all these features are available in a web browser out of the box. No software installation is required.

About Us

Jeff Bizzaro, M.Sc. received his Master's in Biochemistry in 1999. He specializes in the quantitative analysis of biological data, particularly for comparative genomics, and has developed and co-developed several published analytical tools. He has 20 years of experience in Unix/Linux systems administration and Web development, and he co-founded Bioinformatics.org, the largest professional network in the field.
Martin Kucej, Ph.D. received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2003. He has experience in both laboratory research and software development. He conducted research on chromatin, cancer cells, and innate immunity. He wrote the I, Librarian application, which helps scientists with their reading and writing workflow, and he specializes in the development of web-based applications with embedded SQLite databases.
Mark Luo, M.Sc. has 20 years of experience in MySQL and MS SQL database systems development and administration, along with Web development. He specializes in database systems design, SQL development, performance tuning, data analysis, data mining, cloud computing, Amazon RDS systems design and management, security, and monitoring. He is one of the early founding members of Bioinformatics.org.
Prash Suravajhala, Ph.D. has 12 years of experience in functional genomics, bioinformatics and protein-protein interactions. He has extensive experience in the functional genomics of hypothetical proteins and regulatory regions in the human genome. A biologist by training, he is also an expert in designing web-based applications, bioinformatics tools and content management systems for websites.
